Annotation Tools

The following annotation tools include specialized interfaces to assist human annotators in marking up text documents according to the TIMEX2 standard.

"Callisto" : The most recent corpus annotation tool from MITRE contains a special data input widget that supports the 2003, 2004, and 2005 TIMEX2 guidelines. This Java-based software runs on Windows and Unix/Linux.

The Alembic Workbench. A special TIMEX2 widget allows the input of TIMEX2 tags according to the 2001 guidelines. Use the tag preferences file timex2.prefs.

TIMEX2 Scoring Utility. A Perl script for comparing TIMEX2 tags in two files. Updated September 20, 2005. This version:

• Runs on inline sgml format as well as the ACE Program Format (APF) (the scorer auto-detects the file format).
• Defaults to scoring the zone within <TEXT>...</TEXT> tags. Add -t to the command line to score the entire document.
