Welcome to the TIMEX2 web site! This site provides NLP researchers with materials to aid in the development of software to recognize and normalize a wide range of date and time expressions. You will find annotation guidelines for English, hand-annotated data, an automatic time tagger (TempEx) and associated scoring software, and various materials about TIMEX2 for languages other than English. You'll also find links to related work.

TIMEX2 is the second generation of TIMEX. If you're not familiar with TIMEX and want to know more, see the MUC-7 Named Entity Task Definition (Click on "Hub and MUC Proceedings" then "MUC-7 Proceedings Table of Contents," then look in the Appendices). Click here for quick overview of TIMEX2.

We'll be adding more resources to this web site as we go along, especially TIMEX2 materials for languages other than English.
